HK Entrepreneurs, what are you doing for health/dental insurance coverage for you and/or your family (kids)? I'm about to go into a own biz and need help getting an idea of what's out there. Part of me thinks the public medical system in HK is so much better than other countries, ie US, that maybe I don't need coverage. Then, the parent/protector kicks in and makes me realize maybe I do need coverage. Appreciate all thoughts/suggestions!

I'm from the states so know exactly how lucky I am in terms of health care here!! My wife and myself have no insurance and have been very pleased anytime we needed dental or health help. For example, there's a dentist we use in Po Lam who is great, cheap and very professional!!

Here's some information about a group who called me once to enquire for some advertising in my paper. I know nothing about them though but you may want to check them out anyway. James from there told me they do health care related insurance type services.

Thanks all for the feedback. I'll look into HSBC and Precision Grp.

To my understand, if you are a business owner, you may opt for a group medical, which provide health cover for you and your staffs as well as their families. By doing in group, you may get a great discount yet cover for your love ones.

For your option and comparison that suit your need, Manulife does provide group medical as well as individual insurance. You may drop me a message for further information and option.

HSBC is to be avoided - they offer very restrictive policies.

I've used this group for many years and am happy with both the service, the cost and the flexibility. They are HK-based. www.globalhealthasia.com Their policies and prices are clearly noted on the website for the various levels of policy.

Alternatives are: BUPA and PPP, both companies are of UK origin. The former has an office here, but PPP seems to offer a very good solution. Neither are cheap.

Search google for their websites.

Disclosure: I am NOT associated with any of these companies, nor am I a broker or agent.
