How to transfer Internet/Cable contract

Has anyone had experience transferring an Internet and/or Cable contract (eg, PCCW)? What is the typical process?

I had someone say they want me to pay the whole contract amount in advance, but this did not seem safe. I have found some on AsiaXPAT classifieds, but the procedure is not clear. Thanks for your help!

whichever. how do people normally transfer their contract? If someone has signed a 2 year contract but ends up leaving Hong Kong, I'm sure there's a way for him to transfer.

But bear in mind that if you come to an arrangement to take over someone's contract, if you need to contact PCCW or whomever for anything, you have to "pretend" to be the person who signed the contract.

thanks for the input. I have had some people here asking me to pay the full remainder of a contract. For example, 10 months which might come out to $2,000 up front. That seemed risky because they could take all the cash and they would still be in control of the service and contract.

However, I have had a second option presented, other people have asked me to pay a discounted fee each month to them, in which I could deposit directly to their credit card while their credit card number remains on the account.

And still a third option has been presented to me, in which another person has asked me to completely transfer my credit card number to their contract but their name would remain on the account. this also seems problematic. So the only scenario that seemed to make sense was the 2nd option I mentioned above.

Anyone have any experiences like this?
