Adding pages to US passport at consulate

ORIGINAL POST

Hi,

The US consulate website says that they will add pages to one's passport if there are no pages left. I have a few pages left but will be travelling extensively soon. Does anyone know if the embassy staff are real sticklers about not having any more empty pages before they will add more pages to the passport?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, at The US consulate they'll add pages to your passport without a problem. I still had a few pages left. I've done it in Beijing last year, it took them 2 minutes and they did not charge me anything.

Good luck in your travels

I think you will need a few pages for them to adhere the additional new pages too. You must make an appointment on their website here in Hong Kong to get this done. Once there it shouldn't take any time at all. The cost is free. The passport must also be valid for more than six months.

Keep Traveling
