Jabs for a newborn before flying to Nepal

Hello,

We are flying to Nepal for our summer hol and taking our 3 weeks old baby with us. I asked the nurse in the Sai Ying Pun MCHC whether my baby needs any jabs before flying and she told me just to follow the immunisation card. She wasn't much of help.

I think he will need extra jabs like tetanus, malaria, etc. so I would like some feedback from other experienced people.

FYI~He already got his BCG and Hep B vaccines when he was born.

Thanks!

Indeed the only vaccinations to consider are 'routine' and are given at 8 weeks. There would be no malaria in the highlands.

The most common problems are related to hygiene (food poisoning, infections). A 3 week old is more likely to need to see a dr. So make sure you have easy access to clinic and insurance to assist to fly out if needed.
