Wine Fridge Problems Driving Me to Drink!

ORIGINAL POST

Two weeks ago I purchased a Cristal Italy 166 bottle (750ml) wine refrigerator from Cox Brothers. The fellow I dealt with sent me to the distributor's showroom (Great Treasure in Causeway Bay) to check out the model. It looked good, had dual temperature control and seemed well designed and was a great price. Upon delivery I found that the shelves were too narrow to hold all but the most narrow of 750ml bottles!!! Also the shelves were not sturdy enough to hold more than 5 bottles at a time instead of the 11 bottles per shelf noted in the manual. Long story, short -- E-Cox will not take the unit back, Great Treasure keeps saying that my bottles are too big (although I took a selection of regular chardonnay, bordeaux and burgundy bottles to their showroom to demonstrate the variety of 750ml bottles available). I am irrate that Cristal would market a product that is so inadequate.

Does anyone have any insights or have had a similar experience?

Signed, crying in my Barolo.

Did you pay by credit card ? If so, notify them immediately because I don't think the company would have been paid yet. Ask for their advice.

Also, go back to the causeway bay shop and video tape the the model you were shown and put in your bottles to show how it fits. Then film the same for your model at home then you can see the difference. Best bring a friend.

You can also take them to small claims.
