Been to one called Hua Jia. It's in a traditional Beijing house (Shi He Yuan??) Beijing cuisine. Open 24 hours a day. Address is No.235 Dongzhimen Inner Street, Dong Cheng District. Tel 51283315. Pop with expats.

This may be a bit late but there is a street in beijing loosely translated to ghost st. has restaurants representing all the major cuisines in china. there is one that is particularly good and the setting is an old courtyard house. very reasonable..


also the art district of 798 has some boutique cafes
