We currently live on HK Island in Midlevels and are contemplating moving to DB as we have a toddler and another in the oven. The only issue I have currently is a mental block with respect to getting to and from HK Island as all our friends and activities are very Island-centric. My 15 month old is also VERY VERY active and the thought of trying to keep him quiet and still on the ferry (an impossibility) and my gut getting bigger by the day is, in short, a complete nightmare scenario. Also not having a fresh market to go to for fresh produce is a bit of a problem. I'm sure my concerns are not unique so looking forward to a different perspective.

My suggestion is to consider Pokfulam. It's very family/pets friendly at both Baguio Villa and Scenic Villas as well as being across the street from parks, restaurants and cinemas at Baguio Villa. At Baguio, their is also a large International grocery store. Transportation is fantastic -- step out your front door and catch a bus or taxi. In the morning their is an express bus leaving for Central every 15 minutes, taking approximately 10-15 minutes to reach Central. There are also many local buses going to Central, Stanley, Kowloon, Causeway Bay, Quarry Bay, North Point, etc. It's just something to think about along with the idea of moving to an outer island.
