El Nido

Hi,


Has anyone travelled to El Nido from Hong Kong? This beautiful island was highly recommended by my friend and it is a very quiet and exclusive place. I searched online and could only find one travel agency in Mongkok that has packages to El Nido.


If you have had experience, can you please advise which travel agent you use? Would you recommend it? And can you please also let me know how was your flight from Manila to El Nido? My friend is very concerned about small planes (apparently the plane is only for 19 ppl)?

El Nido is a fantastic, all inclusive holiday for the whole family. Their website is www.elnidopalawan.com/. Most people that I have talked to have booked directly through the resort. They do, during certain periods of the year, offer discounts. Most people would find this resort on the expensive end of holidays but well worth the price. The resort is in a amazingly beautiful location. The staff will answer your questions and concerns quickly via email.

AFter arriving in Manila from our Hong Kong flight, we took a taxi to get us to the smaller regional airport where we took the turbo prop aircraft down to El Nido. The plane ride was absolutely no worries and is about the only way you are going to get to this resort unless you sail down there someday. The scenery on the way down to El Nido is fantastic with dotted islands and incredible blue waters. Once you land you will then be transported to a jeepney for the extremely short ride(or you can walk) to the pier, where a Traditional boat will talk all guests across the water passage to the island. There are several islands around both of the resorts (Miniloc or Lagen) at El Nido and those islands can be visited daily with the very friendly activities staff that will greet you upon arrival. Liquor, some drinks and diving are all not included. If you do decide to go snorkeling each day, your gear(all provided by the resort), the same gear each day, will be on the boat awaiting your departure. All you need to do is wake up and get down to the boat. Have fun. We did.
