Im bored out of my mind - husband goes to work, I cant find a job - I need to do something!! I don't have the same relationship with my gfs back home.. so trying to ask someone to just hang out is quite difficult, espe if that person has a baby blah blah.. anyway - any suggestions on a hobby I may take up..
Im one of those people who need something active, I cant sit and paint all day or belong to a book club - my personality is more the adventurous erratic spontaneous type - so any suggestions on what type of hobbies I can take up which will allow me to meet new friends? Right now my BF is my computer..

- You asked for "active": If you like pets, get a dog. And not some little bark-machine. A dog that requires you to exercise and train him/her (Boxer comes to mind). I have to spend at least an hour a day walking/hiking/training my pooch. More often I spend 2-3 hours/day. A great timesink and lots of fun. There's no end of time that you can spend with your dog. And I meet people all the time while walking him. Then again, it is a rather long commitment.
- Learn to sail.
- Go to the gym. That can suck up 2-3 hours right there. And you'll feel better.
- Learn to really cook by taking classes, then do it.
- Volunteer at a dog rescue, a nursing home, etc...
- Explore HK. There's soooooo much to see just by walking around. And I don't mean just the shopping malls. Those little goldmine shops you can only find by walking around randomly. For example my friend showed me a place in Kowloon where you can get big woks for HK$80. Hint: It's not in a mall.
- Hike, hike, hike. There's everything from easy to very hard, and the views are often amazing.
- Learn to ride a motorcycle.

thanks - the dog is a great idea, and already planning - just hope I can meet other individuals out there - really miss that whole network of friends back home.

Not to sound like a personals ad but are you on South Side? I could show you around some trails. You haven't seen HK until you've climbed up a big hill and seen it from above. ;)
PM if interested.
