Under the given circumstances, I need to move out of HK for few months. I am a PR with right of abode and would like to maintain my banking a/c and operate via internet. I have a friend whose address I can use for a charge as home address. Does someone have any experience how this arrangement can work legally.

Currently I am away, but plan to visit in a fortnight to carry out the change of address etc

thanks in advance

I am moving abroad for approx a yr, and have been told by my bank that this is not a problem and changed my address also.

They were very helpful but did warn me that if the account remains inactive for a full year then they freeze the account and only way to get the money out would be to close the account in person - obviously this won't apply to you as you say only going away for few months!!!

As for the change of address, its completely up to you where you want your mail sent - just make sure you trust your friend with potentially sensitive info;)
