I've been hearing the wonderful aspects of omega 3 oils for kids/adults. So as a family we've started to taking it!
But my 4 year old refuses to take it. I have tried two different types of it - ie a strawberry flavoured syrup and a chewable raspberry flavoured oil capsule (all branded and targeted at kids!). and even if i try to sneak it in his food or milk, he can smell it and cannot be tricked!
I can understand why he doesn't like it, it does have a oily and fishy type of taste and smell. Can anyone recommend any brands that don't have this taste/smell?

Well, it's found naturally in fish, particularly salmon, herring, mackerel, anchovies and sardines. So eating a lot of that will get yer fish oils.
For the tablets, get the "deodorized" variants. GNC for example. They won't leave you burping all day.
You could also try Silk brand soymilk. There's a variant with added omega 3, called "Silk Plus".

I give my 3 year old Smartfish which is available from Mannings, Watsons etc. It's a smooth, creamy yogurt type paste that comes in sachets (one for each day of the month) and I usually mix it in with his yogurt. The one we have is natural lemon and apricot flavour and has no fishy smell.
However, my 8yr old hates it and prefers the Haliborange orange chewy fruit burst capsules from Bumps to Babes.
Hope this helps.

Hm...I just went to the website of 'Wellcome/Jason's', but was not able to find the soymilk with brand name 'Silk'.
Did you see it in the local store?

The website is in no way comprehensive. In general, online shopping and online info in HK are rather primitive compared to, say, North America or much of Europe. I wouldn't go by what I see there.
It will vary from store to store. It's in the Jason's (formerly Wellcome) at Repulse Bay, though. And I have seen it at CitySuper in IFC.

I too give my kids Smartfish, my son asks for another one. My daughter drinks water immediately after swallowing it!! I think its good, not a strong smell.
