30 MB internet connection, should we be paying?

The fact that they are charging 40 HKD for this upgrade seems a bit cheeky. I understand the cost of laying down new fiber optics and other costs etc. But surely nearly 80 % of us online are with PCCW. They have customers who cant leave and yet they still want to squeeze 40 dollars more!

Do we have an alternative?

I want the upgrade, but cant help but feel a bit bitter about pccw making still more money from me.

I use Now tv, internet, mobile services and their landline!

Well, as you say they do have installation costs.

In the end though they are free to set a price and you are free to choose not to pay. I agree it is annoying with a near monopoly but those are the breaks in HK.

I wanted to upgrade to 30MB and PCCW told me Bel Air can t get it.. only 7MB

Now I learn that Cyberport proposes a 100MB service.. WHo owns Cyberport ? Yes.. PCCW.

I ll never understand that compagny..
