Hi, Where else can I go to look for good quality sofas besides Horizon plaza and the Italian shops around happy valley area. Are there any good shops which I am missing out on.

If you are adventurous you can try Shenzhen...Bao'an North Road area. There are a ton of furniture shops/malls there where a wide range of styles, prices etc can be had for half the price of HK stores.
Whenever you custom-order furniture from a HK shop, it is pretty much always ordered from the china factory anyways.
I hd a custom made L-shaped sofa made with nice microfibre for only HK$4900 plus $400 for delivery to HK island.

alternatively you can go to foshan - le cong which is also called furniture town. inside they have sofa city which has about 10,000 sofas to chose from - this was my last count ;-)
each sofa can be customized (shape, material, etc, etc.)

it's foshan not shenzhen. foshan is a xxx million city south-west of guangzhou.
two ways to go there:
a) take ferry from hk (macao or tst terminal) up to zhongshan or further north (shunde?) and a taxi from there (my guess 200 rmb and a 45min ride)
b) take the shuttle bus from this 5* hotel (but you have to stay there as well i think)

last time we stayed there, they had this shuttle bus going directly into hong kong (price edward or so). not sure it still works but you can call them up, their english might just do
