Lactose Free Formula - Urgent!

Can anyone tell me where we can buy Lactose Free baby formula. I have tried all the supermarkets with no luck. I do have some coming from Australia but it is taking way too long to get here.

This has also been the subject of great debate as we were always under the impression that the majority of Asians were lactose intolerant so why do their formulas contain lactose? Is this true or false?

My boy had to be on lactose free diet. He had organic hazelnut/walnut drink powder to substitute the formula when he was 1 and he was fine.

Beware of Chinese formula - their junk has been banned even in VietNam it is so bad.

How about soy based formula - works for many.

You should be able to buy a lactose free brand called "O-Lac" in Mannings or even Park n Shop.

your baby may be sensitive to lactose and maybe other things, try taking your baby to a kinesiologist, take a few different formulas with you and they can test your baby to see which is best for them. try www.kinesiologyasia.com ask them if they can help you

My son used to have a formula called Pregestamil when he was a baby, a hypo allergenic formula, as he was intolerant to dairy, soy, sheeps and goats milk, that was from the UK, althought that doesn't help here. But maybe see if you can get some shipped in. If he's over 1 you could switch him to Rice milk, has as much if not more calcium than ordinary milk and readily available in HK.

The formulas that are available in Hong Kong that would be most suitable for your baby are ,

O'lac a formula based on cows milk but without the lactose and the Soya based forumlas such as Isomil,

Prosobee and Nursoy . You should be able to purchase these at a Pharmacy that stocks a variety of different formulas
