Hi All
I live in Sheung Shui, I have been here since March and I reallly really need a haircut (it is out of control and I am due to start a new job) This heat is insane and I would love to rid myself of this wild mane. I do not speak cantonese so am not confident going into a local salon. Does anyone know of anywhere I can go either in the New territories or on the island that is reasonably priced and will do a decent job as well as someone I can comminicate with, I just want a cut and blowdry!!! I look forward to hearing from Anyone!!!

You can probably find a hair style to your liking in magazines and bring it with you to the salon to show the hairdresser:)! There is always risk to go for a brand new hairdresser even if you can communicate well. Btw, the prices vary a lot. What is your budget?

kellbell, try Tommy's in Lyndhurst Terrace. It is just as you turn from Wellington Street into Lyndhurst.
I don't go there as I have mine 'done' on frequent business trips back to my home country but a very good friend has hers done there by a western gentleman and it always looks good. She says the prices are a fraction of the big salons.
Sorry I don't have the number but ring 1081 and they may have it for you.
good luck

Hi KellBell,
Go to Toni & Guy academy in central. Their haircut is only 200hkd i think. They have a web that you can check out for the address details. You need to go to the academy not to the salon as the salon is very expensive.

Do you know if the guy in Tommy's does highlights too? I'm a western girl & am finding it difficult with the language barrier. Do you know the name of the western guy who does her hair?
Thanks.
