carpark's responsibility?

Does anybody know what the law is in regards to intentional damage of a car parked in a carpark? My car was broken into in a carpark yesterday and a window was smashed. Neither the police or the management could give me a definitive answer about whether or not the carpark needs to reimburse me for damages.

I doubt the carpark has any responsiblity. The only one that can eventually reimburse is your insurance. YOu need to check with them.

Actually it is not the responsibility of the car park. All, or at least most, car parks usually display a disclaimer that your vehicle is parked at your own risk. This is pretty standard worldwide. I think pretty much all car drivers have had car park damage at some point and always an insurance issue I am afraid.
