ORIGINAL POST

We have been trying to turn on aircon as much as possible but my toddler still gets mosquito bites at home. Do I really need to put on mosquito repellent on him all the time even at home?

Any suggestion welcome!

If it is mosquitoes, try a ceiling or floor standing fan. They can't fly in a breeze. If it is some other critter you may want to fumigate.

We have had success with mosquito coils on or terrace. Baygon brand works best.

In the end, we accept a certain amount of bites. Put Anthisan cream on them to stop the itching.

Thanks. Are the mosquito coils safe? My 2nd baby is arrving in couple weeks' time so wanna ensure those are not only effective, but safe for babies too.

Are those citronella plants effective?

I wouldn't use them indoors of course but I wouldn't worry about coils. Certainly much safer than sprays. They are considered safe to use even if you (adult) are breathing in the stuff. They are not so much poison as repellent. We use them all the time and have small kids.

Citronella plants work, but they're hardly a 100% solution. They "help" but no more.

You can fumigate the place with one of the home fumigators from the grocery store. That stuff disappears completely in a few hours. If the bites are from fleas or some other such critter they will fix the problem.
