I am visiting a friend here in HK. I met a possible employer recently. He wants to have me interview for a position in HK with his boss in early September. The problem is that I've been here for almost 3 months (summer holiday) and my 90-days is up in 2 weeks.

Rather than returning home to the UK and coming back to HK in September, can I just go to Macau or Shenzhen and then return to HK for another 90-day visa?

Generally you can make a trip to Macau and back and get a renewal. From my understanding immigration will only start to ask questions if you repeat this over and over...
