Hi,

I am an Indian and have a kid 3.5 years old. I need to change her name. In India normally this is done through the notary where in they fill up a pre-formatted form and get it stamped by civil magistrate. Then we need to publish it in 2 leading newspapers and thats it, done.

Can anyone guide me or provide some pointers how can I get that done in HongKong.

i think you need to make a deed of poll through a notary in hong kong. i was looking into this for myself before and deed of poll was the way to go back then

sorry have no more details as i didn't go through with it. maybe you can check the lawyers/notaries association website. i am sure something like this exists

Hi anantgrag,go to birth,death and marriage registration department (near pacific place) or the branch nearest to your home and change your kids name.thats adding new name on your birth certificate. you will have to pay fee for that.

yes, the above works if the child is less than 12 years old.
