We would like to invite the daughter (age 21) of a friend in China to come and stay with us in Hong Kong for 2-3 months. We are British with a working visa, and have been in HK for 4 years. Can anyone tell me what is involved in getting a visa? Any information / tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nothing you can really do here. She will need to get her visa in China and this also depends on where she comes from. Some people are only able to get this in their home cities. Some are not allowed individual visas and are only able to come to HK as part pf a group tour. The length of this visa will also be determined by the China authorities as well.

Thanks evildeeds. Have looked at the relevant page of the HK Immigration website but there seems to be no provision for a long (more than a week) personal visit to HK for people from mainland China. Also, her city is not among the 23 listed, so we're not getting our hopes up.
