Hi there
I am a 24 year old female professional from Scotland and I will be arriving in Hong Kong on Tuesday 1st September.
I literally know no-one and will not be commencing work until the following Monday. I have planned to meet up with some colleagues before starting work, however does anyone know of any social/networking events taking place in the week of my arrival? Alternatively, are there any good websites with such info? I will be staying in Central.
Thanks
Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,
The Australian Association meets for what they call "chatterbox' each Friday around 10.30 at Great Cafe in the Great Supermarket below Seibu in Pacific Place. They are a great bunch made up of all nationalities and will make you feel welcome.
The American Women's Association meet I think on Thirsday mornings.
Google Australian Association Hong Kong and look at the events they have planned. Weekdays, some week nights and weekends. Can do the same for the Americans. Not sure if the Brits do the same. A lot of the Brits are in the Aust Assoc as the Aussies are pretty laid back and welcoming.

Yes, the American one is Thursday mornings, 10 till noon in the Marriott coffee shop in Admiralty.
Lots of new arrivals at the moment & a good place to ask questions about life here. Lots of Brits & Aussies & Europeans, as well as Americans & Canadians & the women who host it are great- I think 2 of the 3 are Brits actually.

Are these coffee events for women only or can men join them as well? Thanks.
