I've started to use HSBC to do some online currency conversions eg HKD to Euro. It's very easy and the spreads they offer seem tight eg 0.25% or so for Euros compared with the typical 5% or more I've been offered by banks in the UK.

Anyone know of other easy routes for currency conversion with materially better rates than HSBC? This is for buy and hold (and ultimately spend!) rather than day trading purposes.

best rates i have seen in HKG are Berlin Exchange in Central. this is not online but a currency shop. probably worth it if you don't mind dealing in cash and work/live in central.
