Damp/Mould problems on wall

ORIGINAL POST

Does anybody know any products to stop damp/mould coming through. I've used so called special paints and it just comes back in a few weeks? There is obviously something wrong with the outside wall but wondered if there was anything I could use to create a barrier on the inside?

Thanks

I'm no expert but have had my share of damp basements. If the wall is not allowed to dry completely, putting up the barrier paint is a temporary solution at best.

Damp Mould walls are normal in Hong Kong, espesically if you are near waterfronts, the only thing you could do it first clean that wall up so atleast you are stopping the growth of what's being left on it. Than get a humidifier. If there were leakage from the outside concrete walls, its would be alot more severe. Cracks and bubbles from under your paint will form.

This is a real problem in Hong Kong.

Having a dehumidifier on can help reduce moulds. Humidifiers nowadays tell you when it is really humid. Then get yourself a mould remover spray from Pricerite.
