Hi there

I am back to the gym and need some advices from women. The web disheartening as when it comes to fitness, advices are given mostly by men for men or by s.o. trying to sell something or for athletes.

I have been back to the gym three times a week at 7am after 7 yrs of absence. Never been my thing really but quite motivated and disciplined now. 42yrs old mother. Needs to know whether you

- eat before hitting the gym ?

- wear measure equipment to stay at fat burning level?

- drink protein or enhencement drinks after?

I am looking at long lasting healthiness and not quick fad. Too old to trick myself anymore with diets and illusions

Thank you for sharing

PS: I do 15mn walk to go to gym, then 28mn steps type machine and then 10-20mn weight one set of 8 to 12moves each machine. When I am not at the gym, i try to walk, move at least 15mn everyday (sedentary job)

Yes I just brush my teeth, drink water and go to the gym at 7am. After the gym, I am buying a pressed pomelo juice and eat 50g peeled raw chesnuts at 845am. When I am not going to the gym, I eat porridge at 7.30am

Butterfly Effect said it all!

Good luck with it - it takes a bit to stay motivated, but it is worth your good health in the long run.

Have you thought about doing something like Pilates to complement your cardio workouts? Excellent for strengthening your body without bulking up. Even an at home DVD to follow on your 'off-days'.
