This AM I put re-writable disc in my computer to try to burn tv program onto it, then put it in my LG (rh399h) reorder/player, it would not recognise the disc, and came up with a message to initialize disc, I pressed Yes, then a disc format sign came up with a count down bar, Now I cannot get rid of this Disc format display sight in the middle of my TV screen, I cannot even use the handset return button, open/close button, or the power off buton, it seems 'frozen". How can I get the machine to go back to normal operation ?

1. Eject the disc and throw it away. It may be bad.
2. There might be dust on the eye. Use air duster/air cleaner or even just blow (careful with spittle) do dislodge it.
3. Unplug the machine for 30 seconds, then plug back in. This might reset it.
4. I don't know about this specific machine, but most have a factory reset. Might be in the manual. Note that this will erase any settings and probably any data.
5. Call LG. You can take it to their repair center in Quarry Bay, or for a $100 fee the tech will come to your house.

Thankyou , I sorted the problem, unplugged it in the end, lucky it didn't loose its programmed settings and it works as normal before I messed with it.Disc is Ok. too
