Bringing in Dependants

ORIGINAL POST

Can someone offer guidance on bringing over an elderly parent, with medical issues, who will be a dependant?

At the moment we have only a working visa permit, however as I understand it a dependant can only be here where a permanent visa has been issued.

Do I need an immigration lawyer?

What can a lawyer do? Maybe none.

However, if there are those who have the same experience/situation, it would be of help to the OP.

Anyone with a normal employment visa can bring in their spouse and children under 18 as dependants. To be able to also bring in your parents as dependants, you must be a permanent HKG resident.
