I need to change my door lock which is a multlock and I was quoted $2,500 for a new lock because it was a multlock and not the normal basic lock and labor cost from $800 to $1,300 just to change the door lock, I wanted to know is that expensive for labor just to change a lock ?
I live in Fanling and there are not many shops around near there.

just a rough range but locks can cost anywhere from $600 to the ridiculously high $5000 and up but for $2500 you can get a nice quality lock such as Medeco. however if you need to replace a lock then you'll need to get the same one because the door in question would have been cut to fit that sepcific lock otherwise you'll probably need a door replacement for different brand lock to fit. labour costs seems a bit excessive but if you're calling a specialist locksmith in, then it can be expensive. Put your haggling skills to use on the shop owner and not the worker.
