Which washing machine??

Need to buy a new washing machine but don't know which one. Currently have a Whirlpool front loader but very disappointing. It was been repaired 4 times within the first 2 years of purchase (brand new). The thing that bothers me is that the clothes are crispy when dried, as if I didn't use any softner. Any recommendations??

I've had 3 Whirlpool washing machines ... one in the UK, which is now 8 or 9 years old and still going strong for my tenants, and 2 here (one provided by previous landlord and now I have my own). I haven't had any problems with any of them so I guess you've been unlucky.


Regarding the 'cripsy' clothes when dried, I doubt that's a problem with your machine ... more likely to do with your washing detergent or fabric conditioner ... or the way you dry your washing. I tend to dry mine mostly in the tumble dryer and those items that can't be tumble dried I put on a drying rack in the same room when the tumble dryer is in use and they dry very quickly and softly. On the rare occassions when I dry them outside they often end up stiff, or crispy, especially if you leave them outside for too long in the hot sunshine and they dry too much. I guess the trick is to bring them inside whilst they are still a bit damp ... but then I find that sometimes they get a musty smell because they haven't dried properly. That's why I tend to stick to the tumble dryer method!
