Try to get some books with the topics that he likes first. My son was being attracted by those books related to space before. After he starts reading these books, I then use them to attract him to read other books with different topics

Mine's 5 and she still can't read independently yet.


She's made a lot of progress since starting school though. She gets a book every second day and she's beginning to recognise some words but it's still a long road.
