Hello everyone....I live in HK now but would like to have my second child in Guangzhou due to financial difficulty. Is just so expensive in HK to have a baby. My question is has anyone delivered in GZ and which hospital do you recommend. After the delivery I would like to return to HK as soon as possible. How long does it take for newborn to receive their China birth certificate becauses I would like to apply for his/her US citizenship right away. Thanks

government hospitals in HK are good and inexpensive. if you are a resident, then why to go to guangzhou? if have only bad experiences of mainland hospitals, and would only recommend against, though in the past few years it may well be that some private hospitals have improved their service (and raised their fees too).
wonder if having been born in the mainland might also complicate the child's moving to HK even with the US citizenship.

It is because I'm not a HK resident is why I choose to deliver in China. In public hospital is about $40k+ and private is ridiculous. I thought if I have deliver in China it would be more convenience and less restriction than flying oversea. I figure after deliver I can apply for baby's US citizenship and return to HK.
