The border crossings will be absolutely clogged. Be prepared for an hour wait to get through at some points.

No, all the checkpoints will be hell and it is a public holiday in China. Anyone who needs to go should use Man Kam To checkpoint which is the smallest least crowded border crossing, usually with about three chickens and a dog there...
