Though he brushes and flosses twice a day, my son still has bad breath.

Its not dry mouth or anything. We dont use that much onions or garlic when we cook. It smells intestinal and I'm just wondering what can be done to solve this.

for one thing to consider having his tonsils checked might be an idea. though if not an infection but for example tendency to have tonsil stones, that would hardly be enough reason for tonsil removal.

Do you brush his tongue? This can help. Long shot in this case but...

I do brush his tongue and upper palate, albeit gently, with a combination of adult and children's toothpaste. And whilst he is capable of doing it himself, I insist on doing it just in case he does it poorly.

His poop seems fine and he does drink water, maybe not enough, but that will soon change.

Perhaps I should get his tonsils checked.
