Hello, I just recently experienced scuba diving and can't get enough of it. I just got my Open Water diver certificate when I went on holiday in Malaysia. And I really want to find a group of people/divers here in HK that goes diving often. Also seems expensive to hire a Dive Master all the time on every dive, dont you think? =)

Hi Nesty, I am also a qualified open water scuba diver and go to Redang in Malaysia every year for scuba diving. I hear that scuba diving in HK is not great as the visibilty is poor.... However, i would love to expeience it, but i am not sure of where to go?

Saw this post and had to take a look.
I'm not sure how useful I will be but I believe the water quality is better up in the new territories on the east side. I've never been to scuba up that way and it is second hand information of friends of live over there.
My advice would be head back to Malaysia or an untouch Thai island.

agreed, malaysia would have more places for diving,I.e: redang, tioman, pulau perhentian..

Actually, I had just tried diving here in HK and true, the visibility is poor. On average, the visibility is about 1-1.5m. It's not as great as the one in Redang, but its a good past time during the weekends. Basically, I want to have more experience so I can appreciate more my future dives.
I hear the infamous shipwreck in philippines from WWI or II is a good challange. Anyone of you been there?
