My child is 6 yeas old. He is going to travel with our helper and my friends to Tailand. Do I need to pass them any document to cross a border that I (or I and husband) agree my son to travel without parents?

You should give your friends a letter authorizing this. Absolutely.

You should prepare one just in case. There is a better than even chance that no border agents would bother to ask, but if they do, it will cause your helper and friends some unwelcome delay, and possibly miss their flights.

Your letter should follow the typical HK authorization format:

"I, , holder of , parent of , holder of , hereby authorize , holder of to take my child to travel in from the period of . For questions or clarifications, please contact me at "

You should also contact your airline, and ask them for their policy.

Thank you all for reply.

Today checked with immigration department and they said no any authorization letter require. But we will defenatly write a letters from each of us for in case. One of my friend told me she did a letter from husband and to notarise it cost her HKD 2000. It is too much.
