Dear All,
We are using cheese in some of my daughters' food. However, I notice that there is salt in cheese. I looked for cheese at several supermarkets to see if they sell saltless cheese - and have not found any. I have managed to find one that is low in salt.
I suspect salt is a necessary ingredient in cheese making - but it is in relatively low quantities - so I dont need to worry, right? Please let me know whether that is correct and the brand(s) of cheese you use for your babies. Thank you.

Indeed. Everything in moderation. Some salt is ok.

Salt is indeed used in the making of cheese. Actually sodium found in salt is also naturally found in a lot of food. As long as your daughter is not under any sodium restricted diet, the amount of sodium found in cheese with normal cheese consumption should not be of concern. For an alternative good protein and calcium source, you can also give her plain yogurt with fresh fruit for snack.
If you want to control her sodium intake, you can do that by using less salt and other sodium containing seasonings in cooking and avoid processed food items.
Hope that helps.
