Looking for a short term internet-only plan for my home, but I'll only be there for about 8 months ... does anyone know of short term plans hrere?

Umm...for home broadband, as far as I know, they all need a contract.

Actually, I found out b- Netvigator will do month-by-month for $398 with 200 hrs/mth limit and 300 installation fee.
