I posted about spotlight closing down end of this year.... and the thread is now gone...
it's not an offensive nor is it a spam thread and definitely it wasn't a thread soliciting ad.
just telling people that spotlight is closing down it's doors and it's sad to see megabox empty coz b n q also closed down. but let's see how things go when Ikea moves in next year
btw the email i received fm spotlight says that goods are only 20 percent off - so it's not a massive discount.

I'll add:
although with b&q gone and the soon to be defunctus spotlight hk, megabox should still be an ok place to go just for local shopping but to me it's lost it's two big attactions. spotlight does or did offer a lot of alternatives from the usual things available in Hong Kong like cheap big fluffy towels and window fittings. i bet it's going to go the same way as b&q i.e. then 20% discount, then 40%, 50%, 60% and 80%.

Spotlight started in Australia and is a fabric, arts and crafts and also party stuff store.
to riceman - megabox is not really on an accessible site. you have to take their free shuttle to go there or walk.
now until ikea comes - it's just the ice rink and the cinema and the restaurants which is frequented by office workers nearby
