Blackberry - change SIM cards

I have a BB in HK, and will be getting a BB contract in a country i travel to frequently, in order to save on data roaming charges. Is it possible to use the same handset, and swap the SIM cards whenever i travel back and forth?

This works for mobile phones, but i wonder if the mail delivery is based on the SIM card, or on the PIN of the BB.

Thanks,

dbg

Mail delivery is based in the SIM card not the phone. So the new contract must be set up to push the same mail as the HK one or your mail will not work.

That means I need to set up and push the mail everytime when I change SIMs?

Just make sure your BB is unlocked. US ones, for examples, are typically not. HK ones typically are so you should be good.

As far as I can figure out, you should only need to set up the push email once per SIM. As soon as you put in the new sim, that operator will find your device and start pushing mails to you.

Indeed, the push is set up with the operator anyway. So once it's done slip in the other SIM and that operator will be pushing mail to you (I assume an individual account).

Just a thought. The BB does not have to be connected to your network provider in order to send and receive mails - you can do this over a WiFi network. Would this imply that it is the PIN that determines where the mail is sent rather than the SIM card?

Yes, that is my understanding.
