Baby born here - can I (the father) get a visa?

My girlfriend and I are due to have a baby here in HK in Jan/Feb. I am on a visiters/tourist visa looking for work/a visa sponsor and my partner is a permanent resident.

If the baby was born here, would I be granted a visa to stay with our baby/family?

actually immigration is not unkind. if you have a long term relationship with your girlfriend you may be able to get a de-facto spouse visa, rare but not unheard of. talk to them. go in person to wanchai.

No such thing in HK. You can get extended visitors visas, and that's it.

If 6 months then it would be a British passport she's travelling on, not Australian which gives 90 days.

As mentioned, get married, get dependant visa and all is sorted.
