Best skyline view of Hong Kong

We have visitors coming in for a day, they've never been to HK before (and we are pretty new ourselves). Which restaurant would you recommend to enjoy good Chinese food and a stunning view of the city? HK island side or Kowloon? Thanks.

Hutong should just about blow their mind...

As funbobby says, Hutong. It is mindblowing. Pricey though.

Some other places to enjoy the view below, none of them with Chinese food. Still, they all have bars so you can always go before and/or after.

Kowloon side. The advantage here is that you can see the light show from the "correct" side.

- Aqua (above Hutong in the same building, and just as pricey)

- Sheraton Bar

- Morton's in the Sheraton. View is a bit obscured in the actual bar.

HK Side:

- Sevva in Prince's Building (not your "classic" skyline angle but a great terrace and great views)

- Excelsior Bar

- Azure in Hotel LKF

- Isobar in IFC Mall. Not that high up but fantastic views for all that.

For (much) less pricey than Hutong and more "local feel" food and ambiance, try a place like Jade Garden (Causeway Bay Plaza II, 3/F; 463-483 Lockhart Road). Ladies with trolleys come around and serve. No view though.

Another place for Chinese is Lei Garden in IFC. No view either but I've heard it's good.

I'd take them for pre-dinner drinks to the Felix bar top of the Peninsula... really spectacular views, even from the toilets!

Then, as someone above posted... Aqua for dinner.

Thank you for the advice. I feel I have got 3 good ideas to work on, and a good number of places to check out.

Hutong looks amazing; might be too pricey for this visit, but I'll keep it in mind for a special celebration.

I might do Chinese for lunch and the view for dinner... which prompts another question: are Lei Garden and Jade Garden similar to Dragon I?

Thanks!

Jade Garden is part of the Maxims Group, massive Chinese restaurants best known for their dim sum...so no, not at all like Dragon i...I would recommend the Jade Garden in Star House beside the Star Ferry in TST for Sunday morning dim sum...nice view of the harbour from the window tables..get there early as no reservations
