The best areas to live in Discovery Bay

ORIGINAL POST

I would be interested to get feedback on the best areas to live in Discovery Bay. From some research online, the best areas that I have come up with are:

1. La Costa

2. DB Plaza

3. Hill Grove Village

4. Beach Village and Seabee Lane

What do you think? Keen to hear from those who live in those areas, or other areas that you feel might be as good or better.

Many thanks.

I live in Siena, I like it here very much, but I have been to other areas also, they are all nice, well looked after, they all have playgrounds for children.

Transport from any of the areas, is about 7 minutes to the plaza, all have a very good bus service which co-ordinates with the ferries, there is a regular 24/7 half hourly bus to the airport, and buses to sunny bay, and tung chung to the MTR links.

Some places are within walking distance of the plaza such as beach village, seebee lane, seahorse coastline. Best thing to do is google a map of DB to see the lay ouy of the place, the only area a bit isolated is the golf club houses, but even they have regular transport.

I live in the Beach Village and absolutely love it there. A short walk to the plaza/ferry/restaurants, nice low density low rise living, large trees everywhere and I know most of my neighbours.

Thanks lace for your response. Would we get a nice 3-bed apartment for HKD$30K in Beach Village?

For prices, I'd suggest you look at the Savills website www.savills.com.hk (but bear in mind that there is some negotiation possible on the listed rental). You can search using your budget to see what is available.

Hi flighinHK, I sent you a PM a few days ago with a list of estate agents web sites in DB, to check pm's click messages in the control panel at the top left hand corner.

We live in Siena 2 high rises. The great things about living here, especially true if you can't afford a yard of your own:

The grassed area for soccer, cricket directly below and the two playgrounds below as well. Very social too.

Right at your doorstep is airport bus, sunny bay and tung chung buses.

Very frequent buses to plaza - esp. since you can catch sunny bay and tung chung buses as well.

Only 10 min walk to siena club - for tennis, large playroom, and pool.

Only 5 min walk to the soon to open North Plaza - supermarket, and other shops.
