I think Malaysia is better! My father went there and he says its great! because of the greenery and the sites! And the food there is also worth mentioning(cheap and delicious). :)

I think Japan is "more special" but it's not a beach destination unless you go to Okinawa (and that's a completely different "world", and quite far from the main island(s). Hot Springs definitely very good. I would vote for Japan ...

Have lived in Japan for a year and have been back twice but not for the last 10 years. Have never been to Okinawa, I think it's always quite there (just google).

Thank you for putting Malaysia as one of your possible tour destination to celebrate your anniversary.

You would enjoy Malaysia if you like the following:

1. Smiles from strangers with no ulterior motives...

2. Some one to escord you to your destination just because you ask for a direction,

3. blue seas and sunshine.

There are a few sland resort to go to:

1. Penang Island,

You may stay in Batu Ferringgi. Rasa Sayang Hotel. This is the place where a lot of newly marriage have their first baby made : )

Try out the local hawker food.

2. Kota Kinabalu, Stay in Tanjung Aru Resort, island hopping

You will find crstal blue sea and sunshine.

3. Redang Island, Perhentian Island, it has to be before mid September or there will be monsoon period for this island. Crystal blue sea and sunshine and the twinkling stars at night.

Where ever you go, I believe you will enjoy it.

The companion that count, it is always true.

I am a Malaysian, based in HK

Yes - two completely different trips. Malaysia for beautiful beaches and relaxing; Japan for sightseeing, strange things and shopping .. and you MUST karaoke - even if you cannot sing. Book a room for two .. its hilarious!!

Equally as good as each other, it just depends on what you wan
