Do I still get the credit card points if I settle my tax using my cresit card? Getting conflicting advice. Thanks

use to, maybe some banks do but HSBC stopped ages ago dammit.

Yes this question came up last year and I believe that the credit card option was no longer available... I suspect that the banks found that people were not using the card to finance the payment (and pay interest...) rather people were paying taxes and paying off cards immediately...

This wonderful option was stopped a long time ago, maybe some 3-4 years ago. It used to be great as we were able to fly for free on frequent flyers just by paying our tax.

We used to pay our family's (parent in laws) tax on our credit card - extremely good. They didn't want the points but we sure did!
