hi, i am married to a chinese man and we just gave birth to a daughter which have european nationality.Unfortunately now when trying to get her transferred to my chinese z visa the authorities claims that she is chinese (due to her father...)

Problem now is that we just came back and she has 30 days z visa that should have been transferred to my z visa before 20/2. But this can not be done now since the authorities thinks she is chinese. They say that we need to give up her chinese nationality (which we never have asked for) which will take 3-6 months.

So my questions are:

1) Any way that we can just transfer her to my z visa?

2) How to give up chinese nationality?

3) How long time does it take?

4) Can she remain in China during the "giving up period"? Because her current visa ends 20/2?

Would appreciate any advsie what so ever!!! Big thanks!!!

Congrats on your baby girl. I assume your hubby is still a Chinese citizen? And your daughter was born in mainland China or in Europe? The local mainland police in charge of household registration are often clueless when comes to nationality. You have a better chance getting it sorted out outside mainland, imho.

Thanks!!! Yup baby born in BJ but after getting european passport we went home to europe to get a visa and then when returning to BJ the problems starts again, given that my hubby is Chinese citizen, therefore daughter is chinese in the authorities eyes even though she has her passport, plus the birth certificate also states that she is a foreigner...
