I am thinking of buying either a Corolla or a Picnic and would like to know from any Toyota owners out there what their real fuel economy is.
I have been quoted an approx. figure by a dealer but I would just like to hear from someone who has owned these vehicles before.
I also believe that the Picnic is no longer available and is being replaced by the Wish. Has anybody owned both who wishes to comment on the differences? The price jump is considerable so I was just wondering how that is justified?
Thank you for any help with us.

Just as a note, if you drive typical "HK driving" your will get relatively poor fuel economy. The urban driving, frequent corners and all those hills are baaad. In other words, even the official "mixed driving" figures quoted by a manufacturer will probably be off.

We have a 2005 Toyota Ipsum 240, which is identical to the Toyota Picnic. our fuel economy ranges between 500km - 620km per fill up and there's probably 5 - 10 litres still in the tank when I fill up. roughly around 10 litres of fuel for every 100 kilometres.
Which we are pretty happy with, and it's a very comfortable, smooth, quite, practical 7 seater wagon. I doubt the corolla will be greatly better, as it will rev its guts out when carrying 4 adults and possibly use more fuel, with a lot less space.
Picnic/Ipsums are great, especially if you have the sunroof and leather interior/timber trim.
Very reliable also, and cheap to service.
We very rarely drive in town, 4 times a year lol, so if
If you live out in the NT, where traffic is never a problem, fuel economy is fine.
