I went through an exhaustive search for a freezer. We wanted a chest one but that was apparently impossible. In the end, we went with Fortress. They have it in catalog if you go there. Delivery was under a week.

You could also try www.ecox.com.hk tel 22396-0166, they are at 194,Tong Mi Road, Prince Edward. They have a large electrical showroom there, they are a Hk chinese firm, the owner speeks very good English, It was worth our while going there, mega savings on Fortress, maybe have a look at there web site, any thing you don't see enquire about, they are good at answering enquiries.

I think the low demand for freezers is more due to the fact that most people don't have a lot of space and few have cars. So you don't get weekly shopping. Same for the ubiquity of markets and supermarket.

At the moment, I believe it's hard to buy a new one as it has something to do with the energy labels/levels(???) changing - we were told by the stores (WingOn, Fortress, my local elcetrical/freezer guy) to wait a month before they may have stock.
