Contemplating of taking a crusie holiday with family (husband & I, boy & mum) in the Mediterranean for 8 nights in July. Got some information regarding the MSC cruises.

Any related tips, advice, etc. would be highly appreciated!

July- I did that few times. Which itinerary? Western ? Or Eastern? Or including Greek isles? ??

Western Meditarranean is the best one. (in my opinion)

Princess Cruises or Royal Caribbean were the best.

MSC- so so food and service. but the price reflects that.

If you need more info, let me know. Glad to help, I am a cruise fanatic.

Katetam,

Glad to hear that you are a cruise fanatic.

I have not done any yet but keen to try.

Do people tend to get sea sick on the cruise?

July - which itinerary is the best for a first timer. We went to Spain & Portugal last year (in a group tour), may not want to repeat again.

Did you use a travel agent in HK?

Thanks for your kind assistance in advance.

HI !

I personally liked going from Barcelona to Venice.... (includes France along the way). Then we did Venice to Istanbul, (along the way, Italy's islands, and Greece too).

I think although you did Spain and Portugal, it's different experience from a cruise' perspective.

People get sea sick...but on a such a large ship (we always do large ships).... I hardly ever knows it's even moving.

Also the Med cruises are SO intense in itinerary, you are really on board only for 1 day at sea at times. If you are doing a week's cruise, I think you get to go on land every day.... it's exhausting, but really fun.

Be prepared that shore excursions are expensive, but well worth the money and no hassle.

I typically use my Canadian Agent to book my cruises, the hk's agent are not very experienced in booking cruises. NOW, I think it's better because more and more people are cruising from HK.... I think the agents like Lotus Tours and Wing On Travel... they are more knowledgeable now.

You can always book direct with the cruise line, you just have to get you own separate air from HK.

Have fun planning! Envious... I can't cruise this year, will do so next year.
