I lived in HK with a dependant visa as my husband is a Perm Res. Card holder.
We moved to Britain some time ago but are likely to come back in the nxt 6 months.
My question is, I will be abe to enter HK using my HK ID Card as my dependant visa is valid until 2011, but can I renew my visa for another 3 yr one then get my perm resident status (after 7yrs) or do I start from scratch (another 1yr visa, then 3+3yrs)???
I actually put this to the immigration dept before leaving HK as I knew we would return and they wern't definitive in their answer.
Has anyone had experience of this?

Just answered this in another section!
She'll be able to come in using HKID card but the time spent outside HK will mean the clock goes back to 0 in regard to getting PR. Usually anything over 6 months will do that.
