The old chestnut- got visitors coming from UK & would like to do SZ & Beijing- anyone had any visitors be able to get dual entry visas in HK these days? The web site "advises" them to apply at home- does that mean they HAVE to? Will try call on Monday & let you all know if I get anywhere!

If anyone's interested, got this from my travel agent, though the visitors have gone ahead and applied in UK, where it's costing rather more! But would recommend checking anyway, don't take my word as gospel!

the China visa application procedures have been changed, your friends

can apply their visa upon arrival in HK, we can also process visa applications

for them, a single tourist visa costs HK$600 per person, it takes 4 working days,

we need to have their original passport and one photo each.

Don't risk trying to get a visa at the border though. I have had brit friends stopped there- admittedly years ago. But I have to apply beforehand too, as just before the Olympics they tighteed the rules.

Brits can do the SZ visa at the border now but it's very expensive. I think Americans are the only ones who cant - but that was last week!!
