I've used Moj who owns Tala's Hair Hair & Beauty Center. She has shop in Sai Kung, but I think she also has shop in Soho. 2521 9333 is number I have for Soho. I have fine straight blonde hair and she does perfect highlights and cuts. Not cheap, but not most expensive either.

Try the hairdressers. Darryn gave me the best blonde I've had in my life.

Try DESSANGE. The brand is famous for blonde colouring and using Balayage technique to give the most natural look. Look for Guillaume from Paris.

Hello!I went last week to Tala's Hair (soho) for cut&blowdry. She did a good job but the bill it was expensive.... $690. I'did't know that they have a different price for Sylist and junior stylist. Next week I'll come back to Tala's for the highlights but with the stylist the price is $1380. I think it too much expensive (in Italy I pay about $700)..Do you know another good hairdresser or if in tala's hair is working a good junior stylist? Thanks

Hi all,

I just had my hair done (very blonde highlights) by STEPHEN YUNG at Exclusive Salon, Park lane shopping mall Causeway Bay and I have never had a better colour! He was so attentive and spoke good english. A full head of highlights, and a solid colour, hair treatment and cut and blowdry (which he spent a lot of time on as my hair is very curly and he wanted to show me the colour properly so he made it straight!) all up cost me $1500. At some other salons it would be nearly that much just for the colour. Without the treatment it could have been cheaper, just depends what you want. Nonetheless, he is fantastic and I would reocmmend him to anyone who is nervous about having their blonde locks touched in Hong Kong. Ph-31789819

Sozo hair design 34 Wyndham Street, central

I decided to write this review because I know how difficult it is to find a good hairdresser in Hong Kong that can actually work with Western hair. When I say Western hair, I mean two tone blonde, whispy, flyaway hair that turns to fuzz the minute it is exposed to the gruelling humidity here in Hong Kong. I have literally declared today 'Happy Hong Kong Hair Day!' I have finally found a hair salon after 8 months of, how should I put it?... Trial and error in some of Hong Kong's so called top salons and of course the wee cheap and not so cheerful salons dotted about.

My husband never fails to tell me that I'm completely obsessed with my hair and quite frankly I'd have to agree with him just this once! I wouldn't say that I've a wonderful head of hair but before I moved to Hong Kong I used to frequent the hairdressers quite a lot. Back in Ireland my hair was coloured every 4 weeks, trimmed every 3 and blow dried maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I am by no means high maintenance but it helps a lot when your friend owns the top salon in your town.

Within the first week of moving to HK I immediately started to get withdrawal symptoms for a good blow dry. My first experience was completely shocking, the hairdresser blow friend my hair with his fingers. The end result was a mixture between Farrah Fawcett and an electrocuted poodle. Definitely a far cry from the result I got today in Sozo!

For the first time ever in HK the stylist actually listened to what I wanted. It was by far the most relaxing salon experience I've had in Hong Kong. The staff are so accommodating and would literally go out of their way to help you and make you feel at ease.

It was such a nice change to sit for a few hours in a lovely, bright, airy and modern salon, reading magazines and an drinking an endless supply of coffee.

Having tried numerous salons and failing miserably, my hair was in desperate need of TLC. After reading a review on Sassy HK I decided to take the plunge and book my highlights with the director Yoko. I'm still smiling thinking of the results!! Yoko definitely knows what she is talking about and expertly coloured my hair giving it a beautiful two tone effect. She has literally transformed my dull, lifeless and straw like hair into slickly smooth honey coloured tresses.

I've searched all the expat sites looking for recommendations and I'm over joyed now to have found a hair salon that listens to their clients and more importantly do exactly what you want!

I am so glad that sassy featured Sozo hair design in their blog, it is without doubt my best find in Hong Kong so far!!

Not only have they impressed me, today has been the first day my husband has complimented my hair since we moved here... Happy days!!
